Back to Dubai Cleaning after Summer Holiday
Back to Dubai Cleaning is a concept that Mangrove Cleaning Services Dubai is introducing. What it essentially means is that Families can book the cleaning of their properties while they are still abroad. Can you imagine that your flight arrives in the wee hours of morning and you come to a completely dusty home? I am sure you will dread such a scenario. But dust is one essential element of living in Dubai that we have to deal with on daily basis. Since summer months are also highly humid in Dubai, you must have experienced all types of fungal growth in the dark and damp areas of your house if it stays close for few days, let alone few weeks or months! However, from now on you do not have to go through such an experience. Just arrive in a fresh looking and smelling home!

Buying a Fake - Who is to Blame?
here was an interesting program on the subject on a Call-in Radio in Dubai today. Defender of the brand was of the view that buying fakes by the consumers can lead to the extinction of exclusive brands like Louis Vuitton (LV) resulting in job losses etc. Defender(s) of the consumer action insisted that if these exclusive Brands were to rationalize their prices, there would no incentive for consumer to buy the fakes and there would be no production of the fakes ultimately. The counter argument by the Brand defender was "then such Brand would lose its exclusivity, if every one could afford it"....
In my opinion.... Exclusive Brand ceases to be exclusive when it is produced and marketed around the world. If it is being produced in 20 factories around the world along with One Original factory, that gave it its brand identity and exclusivity, it already is mass produced. They should charge different prices then I.e., that of a highly recognized mass produced brand... Like coke or pepsi.... and not that of an Exclusive Brand!
The only incentive to produce in Cheaper destinations is to cut cost. Now if the cost reduction is to fatten Brand's margins and the benefits are not to pass on to consumer, there is a trace of unscrupulous behavior on part of the Brand. Isn't consumer then justified to cut his cost???
What do you think?

Bernard Madoff Fraud - An Isolated Incident or emblematic of Bush Era?
If I am not mistaken, it was Georg Bernard Shaw who said....
....At the time of decadance the Base Prosper.
When George W. Bush became president, the contrast between him and his predecessor Clinton was so stark that my belief strengthened that it was the beginning of the end of the glory days of a great Nation called United States of America.
And I remember of commenting in the early days of Bush administration that "When the people of bush rule the world, the Jungle's Law prevails!"
Debacle after debacle - from plaguing the world with unwarranted wars to a depression like economic situation around the world and bringing the US to the brink of losing its moral authority in the commity of nations - the nail in the coffin comes in shape of Madoff Fraud. The biggest victim of this Ponzi-style Scam are the charities serving the poor and downtrodden and the individulas with life-time savings invested with Mr. Madoff.
Despite early warnings to SEC by various journalists, no attention was paid until it was too late. I cannot believe that it was simple oversight or even failure of the system. In my opinion, without regulator's complicity - and Bernard Madoff boasted at times that he has good relations with SEC people - fraud of such scale would not have been possible.

What do you do in recession? Share your ideas...
No doubt we are already in deep deep global recession. In such a scenario, what would you do that....
1) will keep your current business afloat
2) would lead to create new businesses
How many of Ecademists would like to pool-in their resources to create viable cross continental sustainable projects? Do you think this Recession is a wonderful opportunity to lift Ecademy as an Entrepreneurial platform?
I would like to create a Forum where ....
1) Members could post their business plans
2) Committees could be formed to evaluate these business plans and rate the projects on different criteria
3) Investors could bid for the projets
Any more ideas and suggestions, please feel free to post!

Global Recession - who's responsible?
Global Recession leading to worldwide depression is what is being feared all over the world right now. None, whomsoever, feels secured under the current situation. What has led to this dismal economic outlook all around the world? Is it that the entire world was pursuing wrong economic policies all at one time or is it beacuse the economies of the world are so inter-linked and interdependent that the ills of one or a group of economies contaminate the entire network?
If it is the viral effect, then where did it all start?? Whereas it's easy to detect the origin of this fiasco and symptoms of the disease, we need to go a step further and research the real causes of the diseas. It's easy to say it all started from the US and that US Financial system stressed due to Sub-Prime crisis led to the economic stagnation in the US and consequently the whole world.
Some people say that lack of due dilligence in the mortgage financing enabled those people to secure home loans who could never have afforded to buy a home and therefore the banks and other mortgage finance institutions themselves wrote the recipe of their own disaster. Some people have questioned the very notion of Laisseze Faire and have asked Governments to regulate the Financial and other economic sectors by introducing stringent controls through legislation. And such voices of control are, for strange reasons, are not coming from centrally planned economies but from the house of Capitalist System, i.e., US and Western Euorope. The question is why was there such a lack of due dilligence during last eight years? Are the systems and institutions becoming outdated to the current economic realities? Or it is the lack of will on part of those who are responsible for exercising such due dilligence?
There is a growing group of people who thinks that current US Administration, dominated by Big Business groups, is the cause of many a debacles where State Interests were compromised by pursuing the personal or group business interests. War in Iraq might have resulted in accumulated debts instead of source of supply of Oil for the State of America. However lucrative contracts for supplies and "Building Iraq" must have resulted in revenues and profits for such business groups beyond our (not their) imagination.
It's also argued that why is it so that never in the history of US so many Chapter 11 bankruptcies have happened as in the current US Administration. Following is a list of 10 top Bnakruptcies compiled by CNBC...
10. United AirlinesAssets: $25.2 billionDate Filed: Dec. 9, 2002
9. Pacific Gas and ElectricAssets: $29.8 billionDate Filed: April 6, 2001
8. Global CrossingAssets: $30.2 billionDate Filed: Jan. 28, 2002
7. RefcoAssets: $33.3 billionDate Filed: Oct. 17, 2005
6. Financial Corp. of AmericaAssets: $33.9 billionDate Filed: Sept. 9, 1988

2. WorldcomAssets: $103.9 billionDate Filed: July 21, 2002
1. Lehman BrothersPre-Bankruptcy Assets: $639 billionDate Filed: Sept. 15, 2008
One can notice that 8 out of 10 of these bankruptcies happened in this Bush junior Administration and the other two under the Senior Bush!
And if you look at what happened to AIG and Merrill Lynch and the current state of affairs at Big 3 Auto companies, it makes one think that;

And if you look at what happened to AIG and Merrill Lynch and the current state of affairs at Big 3 Auto companies, it makes one think that;
- Either Bush Administration(s) were inept to govern and run the economy of the country or
- There might have been greater designs behind such failures.
Next administration should at least look into the Financials of the the current administration's companies and personal accounts and point out the changes in their financial status after they came to power.
In this Global Village, If the USA has to keep its role as the world leader, it has to get rid of the 'Bush World Order' and focus to improve its economic situation first before it tries to assert its might to bring about political changes around the world.
I hope Obama Administration would abandon the false wars and would rather focus on improving US economy so that World Economy gets improved too in the process. Healthy US is in the interest of all including those who loath its political policies.
